Raine & Co. have been involved in the sale or purchase of large residential sites for a total of nearly 750 units. Set out below is a brief summary of key Residential Land transactions.

Edenbridge Enterprise Way

EDENBRIDGE: Land west of Enterprise Way and St John’s Way

Raine & Co. acted for Bellway Homes in the unconditional purchase from Cooper Estates of this 27 acre site. Although in agricultural use the land already benefited from the grant of outline planning permission for up to 300 residential units. Development is currently underway for a scheme known as Oakley Park.

SHERFIELD-ON-LODDON: Reading Road, ‘Redlands’

Raine & Co. acted for Bellway Homes in the unconditional purchase from Cooper Estates and Hampshire County Council of this 16 acre site. Although in agricultural use the land already benefited from the grant of outline planning permission for up to 150 residential units.

Kingston Former BG Site

KINGSTON-UPON-THAMES: Former BG site, Richmond Road

Raine & Co. acted as agents, and property and development consultants, on behalf of J Sainsbury Developments (JSD) in their mixed-use scheme on the former Gas Board site lying to the north of Kingston-upon-Thames town centre.


Raine & Co. acted throughout for JSD, including the sale of the 155-unit residential element to a national housebuilder.

Maidstone Farrows

MAIDSTONE: The Farrows

Raine & Co. acted as agent and lead development consultant for Tesco in securing the sale of 8.3 acres to a national housebuilder. With the benefit of an historic outline planning permission for residential development, the greenfield site was marketed on an informal tender basis to a selected number of parties and was sold unconditionally. It has now been developed
to provide 122 units.

Edenbridge 2

EDENBRIDGE: Hamsell Mead Farm, Sunnyside

Raine & Co. acted for Bellway Homes in the unconditional purchase from Cooper Estates of this 2.3 acre site. Formerly in residential and agricultural use, outline planning permission had already been granted for up to 20 units. The site will be incorporated within Bellway’s adjacent Oakley Park housing development, over land they had previously acquired through Raine & Co.
